We have been fortunate to work on a number of underground & over ground stations and in this instance we were asked to provide detailed drawings for various areas of cladding in the renovation of London bridge station.
The scope of works was spread over 3 main areas:
Whilst not in keeping with typical projects, we reverted to 2D drawing capabilities to ensure complete integration with the client’s requirements. The two areas of cladding required a first fix folded channel system fixed to the existing walls with the second fix panels being screwed on afterwards. Great attention was taken to ensure all panels were detailed with correctly aligning folds and shadow gaps which provided a seamless professional alignment with the focal objects being the war memorial and ATM’s.
The soffit area was built up of a carefully thought out grid system of Halfen channels to ensure the variety of soffit panels could all be mounted with ease across the entire ceiling. One challenge was using 2D developments to work out the path of access panels using stay bars to ensure the panels could not open beyond a certain point.
