NEO Bankside London

Specialised Steelwork / NEO Bankside London

Neo Bankside is a world-class development, beside Tate Modern on the South Bank of the River Thames. It comprises of 217 apartments and penthouses in four Pavilions with views towards The City and St Paul’s Cathedral.

We were involved in a vast array of works on the NEO Bankside project including the following:

  • 7 No. galvanised back of house stairs consisting of flat bar stringers, open grid treads and Kee Clamp balustrade.
  • Structural steel carcass’s with open grid flooring to produce access walkways complete with access hatches and corresponding ladders.
  • 4 No. 5 storey mesh stair balustrades to existing steel carcass by others. carcass.
  • Catladder with Kee clamp landing balustrade & access door.

An interesting feature of the core stairs is that the carcass had been supplied with pre-welded vertical tab plates, so we were asked to detail the balustrade with machined flat bar end posts that were bolted through the tab plates provided. The infills were also quite unique in design, being framed mesh panels that are set out from the well of each landing and are staggered over two flights.
